A Chanel Art Exhibition- SS14 Collection.

Evening everyone,

I hope everyone is safe and sound after the storm. What a crazy 24 hours! Let's just hope that is the worst of it.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend full of awesome Halloween party's and bad TV (As much as i like to protest my hate of X Factor i still seem to find myself watching it....Grrr).

So as you all know i went to Paris for work, and by god i don't know how but each time i go the experience seems to be more amazing than the last. That's the effect Chanel  has on a girl. I love Paris more and more, i love being with my friends and absolutely love my job and the atmosphere and buzz around PFW.

So Spring Summer 14 for Chanel was all about the Arty gal. As you walked into Grand Palais venue (a   tent within the grand hall of the Grand Palais (which is scaled down to the usual show) you are immediately introduced to your own Chanel exhibition. A bucket of chains, a large classic chain bag hanging on the floor, a Chanel tyre leaning on a naked mannequin oh and a Chanel No5 robot and much more....Oh and people over hearing Katy Perry say "Which of these pieces can i buy they all have red dots on them already"

So these are my own photos of the "Gallery" pieces...

The mayhem outside of The Grand Palais.

I need this Chanel Robot to spray me every morning.

The calm before the fashionable storm...

I think the theme was very obvious from the moment the invites were released but I don't think people knew the extent of what Uncle Karls imagination would produce and how unique collection was. The clothing and bags were your typical art students canvas (Well The Art School of Chanel) covered with colour swatch pallets, black and white shading, graffiti and CC painted on the faux drawn on Boy Bag. But do not be fooled by the art theme...Underneath the canvas lies the Chanel girl in fuchsia/baby pink tweed, white and cream tweed with intricate bow detailing, feathered frayed hem lines, pearl beading within the tweed, silk dresses covered in the swatches, denim with the beautiful black and white shades and woven knits and that's just the clothing. The tweeds were as bold as the art work.  It is clear Karl is an expert at mixing classic Chanel with modern Chanel

Karl had a clear plan, it was about the clothes and accessories. The models walked in a simple pump with calf length beige socks, clearly a way for us to not be distracted from the intricate details on the Brick bag covered in pearls. Yes SS13 for Chanel is the rebirth of the Pearl accessories with a new modern twist. Giant pearl balls, on the necklaces, bracelets and rings. Square chain bracelets encased in ombre colours (its all about the arm candy swag), the painted boy bags, single pouch bags on chain, bright coloured perspex brick bags and the insanely cool fingerless gloves with double C's in pearls. Oh and lets not forget those graffiti/ spray painted back packs. Even more beautiful in real. Another highlight was seeing the models walking down the runway with 2 handbags ala Miroslava Duma.

You can really see how Karl moves with the times through each season, he doesn't follow trends, he starts them. A true designer.

With a collection like this to show of course the FROW was just as impeccable as the collection.
