Spring Summer Chanel Nails Preview

Hey guys,

Sorry for such a delay in blogging. I had a lovely short week at work along with a week with some of my favourite girls. All I was missing was my BFF Doreen and Clairey!

I always find it weird how Spring Summer ready to wear pops up way ahead of make up ranges for example Chanel launched their Summer 14 make-up collection today exclusively to the Covent Garden boutique and the flagship on Bond Street. It is hard to believe Pre-Fall collections will start coming into stores at the end of June…So lets revel in some summer tones whilst we can.

I love make-up all year round, trying new blushers, foundations, highlighters, mascara and my ultimate favourite nail varnish. Boy this seasons Chanel nail Vernis are a treat!

Eastern Light, Sweet Lilac, Pink Tonic, Mirabella are 4 of the 5 in the collection that are limited edition.  There is also Tutti Frutti a new addition to the core nail polish collection:

I am so in love with these new colours. I have to say this has to be my favourite summer collection for bright colours. I often find brights hard to match with my Asian tones, not because they don't compliment it but due to me always sticking to reds, blues, neutrals and dark pinks. I had to try the colours out to show you how they translate from bottle to nails:

My favourite really has to be the Eastern Light. It is the perfect white nail varnish, 2 coats and it comes out lovely and smooth.

Also in the collection are some beautiful new eyeshadows and mascaras in the lilac.

Left to right- Mirage D'ombre, Utopia D'ombre, New Moon D'ombre and
Inimitable Violet Touch.

The collection is available exclusively at Chanel London Bond Street, Chanel Covent Garden and go on general sale nation wide on the 6th June.

Thanks for reading guys.

Dusters In the Summer

When I first saw this duster jacket in Monki, my mind thought "could I really carry it off? It's a maxi blazer in London, won't some random idiot pull on it?' Well sod all those thoughts, I went in on one of their discount days and picked this little beauties up. I can safely say I am madly in love with it. It is so flattering and light I have even considered buying a black version of this. I am 100% certain  you will see it on the blog styled in a different way but I wanted to post this look first. Whilst the boyfriend (who by the way is proving to get better at the whole blog photographer job aka putting up with me) was working at the British Council, we decided to spend one of the last days working close to one other at Somerset House post lunch at Kimchee (seriously one of the best places for great Korean food and not expensive at all). Somerset House is truly one of my favourite places in London, not only for fashion week/ creative exhibitions but because on a summers day it truly is beautiful.

The pearl necklace is a little beauty I picked up from H&M for a fancy dress party. It has now become one of my favourite jewelry pieces. It resembles a piece Chanel created in previous collections. A lot of friends, colleagues and sales assistants have even asked me if it is Chanel. Of course I am a woman full of honour and steered everyone to H&M. The Chanel heart pendant is a limited edition piece, I have always had an impeccable eye for pieces I know what will sell quick and what will catch peoples eyes quicker. This was love at first sight when I went to Paris with my boyfriend in 2011 so it is one of my most cherished pieces.

My new favourite lipstick at the moment is the new Dior Addict Fluid Stick. I am not one for lip glosses as the texture kinda makes my skin crawl, this however isn't your average lip gloss slapped with a new sticker. No, it has more thickness, deeper and more varied in colours and stains beautifully without being sticky. I massively recommend it to the readers who love to try new lippies and glosses.

The thing I would do for the other 2 colours in these ankle boots. I have these Chanel boots in this bright burgundy and a beautiful grey with lavender undertones. I bought both pairs within a week of one another last year. The pair I regret not buying was an amazing bright green. The reason for my regret? These are the best boots I own, along with the Chloe Susanna boots that I have worn so much they are taking a well earned rest, durable and comfy with a splash of fun. Parfait. Then again my shoe collection really doesn't need an additional member at the moment. That could currently stand for my handbag collection but my Boy Bag is loyal and gets the best use out of my Chanel collection. I wouldn't mind adding another to my collection, but one bag at a time…my list never stops growing, but with a growing list comes a hard working mentality.

Chanel Cruise Dubai 2014-2015

When Chanel comes calling to your country, you better answer that phone and roll out that carpet! that is exactly what Dubai did. Yes if you haven't already seen your Instagram feed inundated by the highest of the high fashion elite parading around Dubai with their Chanel guide to the city then you have been missing out!

When Chanel announced in February that the cruise collection was heading to "The Island" in Dubai (Isla Moda a concept that had been birthed since the man made islands were complete, an Island dedicated to Chanel) The fashion world clapped. It also saw the acknowledgement that Karl was giving to the Arab world, that they drive the luxury fashion industry. You could argue that is not true, but we are not here for politics. We are here to talk fashion. Dubai was Chanel ready this weekend, welcoming guests from around the globe, throwing a dinner party Monday evening and presenting one show stopping collection.

The guests were treated to traditional Arabic tea on arrival to The Island.

The architecture of the building. CC woven all over. A theme which is echoed on to the collections accessories.

As you can see I was treated with some amazing photos from my friends along the way, from the journey to The Island to the after party with the insanely talented Janelle Monae performing. Please note these are ALL my photos from a group of colleagues who sent them to me.

Some close ups of the accessories to lust after:

Arabic Tea Pot Bag- Chanel Transparent Water bottle.

Light up sandals meet extreme Hareem pants.

Big hair= Big Chanel Head pieces.

The Giant Pearl.

The Bullet 2.55

The Oil Can/ Water Can.

The CC Boy bag

Lace Gloves meet Arabic Style slipper.

The CC cuff. (Look at the tweed detailing, you can see the colours of the UAE incorporated into the tweed).

These slippers! Out with espadrilles in with these bad boys.

As you can see from the photos fresh from the runway, the collection is completely and utterly UAE inspired. It captures the heart of the Middle East and the Islamic culture. The prints are all inspired by 11th and 12th Century Islamic Art and print. What is inspiring about this collection is it respects the dress code of the Arabic lands and still remains chic and modem. Each look can be mix and matched with other looks. The epic Hareem pants were also lust worthy perfect for desert weather. Along with all the floral prints (FLORCORE IS COMING!), my favourite looks had to be the tweed two pieces. Wow. I'm pretty sure the requests for these pieces to be available pre cruise will hit the roof especially with the Muslim festival of Eid just around the corner. Come on, I know what I would wear on Eid day. I can't speak for all Muslim Asian Fashionistas but I can truly say I am proud of my heritage and I am proud of Chanel for capturing the modern middle eastern woman.

Here is the whole collection bellow. I would love to hear what you think of the collections.
