The best of the rest...LFW SS14

Hey guys,

So as promised i said i would finish my round up of London Fashion. Trust me, these are wow shows. Ones that really cemented themselves into the fashion industry and made us Brits proud to show what LFW brings to fashion month. So let's get started...

Christopher Kane

Oh god, seriously, I think i want to marry Christopher Kane because this man just gets me! He truly is one of our best talents in Britain. This seasons collection focused on carnations, buttercups and orchids. It's all about these flowers, it's the petal sweaters that grabbed me pared with long length jacquard skirts with knife pleats, petal cut outs and silver suits. This was the anatomy of delicacy aka the woman. Seduction is key. In my wardrobe is also key too! I love how there is always a process behind each Kane collection, the use of leather and holographic tees and crocodile clips on the zips of the oh so beautiful gowns. With the announcement of the new Christopher Kane Boutique opening soon, it's a good time to be in with the Kane's.
I personally cannot wait to get the anatomy sweater and look closely and the arrow and flower dresses.

Erdem

As said by Erdem himself, this collection was ode to the literary romantics, clearly for me a English Literature graduate ;) . Monochromatic theme, with a hint of silver and yellow, the collection oozes romance with the heavy use of organza. laser cuts and lace. The jackets with the neon embroidery was to die for and there was the beautifully cut baseball jackets. It's obvious Erdem looked to some french inspiration. For me i saw some key Chanel tones in the collection. A classic and chic collection which epitomises the look i want for next season.

Peter Pilotto

An epic collection for SS14....and i mean that in more than one way. The inspiration for this collection was volcano's through the colour pallet, the volumising silhouettes and embellishment. This collection is a very apt for the pair, Colour, layers and print is key for this collection along with the Pilotto signature peplum. I absolutely love the asymmetric cuts, the use of lace and organza. It's hard not to love the quirky floral prints in the ombre volcanic tones, and the flashes of bold colours. This is a collection that is surely going to propel them into the international lime light especially as the brand has been announced as the next Target collaboration. Prepare to see Peter Pilotto everywhere!

Tom Ford

King of marketing and fashion. Not a Brit but proud to show his show in London. What made this show special? The fact that his long awaited boutique has opened on Sloane Street. Tom Ford is all about the details, and not just on his clothing, guests went into a room full of mirrors and sat on duck blue velvet sofas. Chic or what? This man knows what women want, it's his true gift. The show was spectacular, who doesn't want furs, lace, mirrored mosaic dresses, long sleeved sheer dresses, and those thigh high lace up boots. The collection started with some beautiful tan leather dresses and over sized leather bombers.

Burberry Prorsum

If i could spend the evening picking someones brain i would choose Christopher Bailey. The man is a genius. A seasonal pro i think they call it. Bailey has obviously been hanging out in Ladurée this last few months because the colour pallet was that of a beautiful macaroon selection. What we have to remember is. Burberry are notorious for their theatrical shows (who can forget last season with Tom Odelle singing 'Another Love' with a amazing Gospel choir and that whole love heart PVC collection). Some cynics believe Burberry Prorsum attracts it's huge media attention through glamorous ambassadors and celebrity guests, but i am not one of them. I genuinely think Bailey is a genius. This collection is that beautiful transition from AW to SS. With key emphasis on flowers, soft pastels and beautiful lace pieces (I particularly love that the pants and transparent skirt has continued on from AW) the soft cashmere jackets, and those beautiful single breasted coats. Oh and can i please have the transparent rain coat Cara wore towards the end? The detailing on the embellished pieces oozed romance and to end such a romantic collection petals fell from the sky. My love for Christopher Bailey will never die. He is truly a master of his craft.

Ashley Williams

Last season we had Teddy Bear handbags, this season we have Shark clutches. Ashley Williams is seriously cool. With beautiful midi denim dresses with wide fringe detailing which carries on in the collection, python print dresses and bikinis to swim suits, suits and dresses with the logo "dream boat" emblazzed with a picture of a speedboat.

Claire Barrow

Part of the Fashion East crew, Claire is a hot rising star. With a recent collaboration with Mathches Fashion, Claire's fashion status is rising. Graffiti, leather and cotton is key for Barrow's SS14.

I hope you have all enjoyed my London Fashion week round ups. I'm gonna try and get a post on my favourite shows from Milan done as soon as possible, but tomorrow is day 1 of Paris fashion week and I am so excited.

Thanks for reading guys

Lots of love
